A shamba is a vegetable plot. Crops we grow are sukuma’s (a cabbage), spinach, courgettes, unions and water melon. We are also experimenting with new crops such as broccoli. Fruits will not be available until three years from now. This is the time the trees need to grow and bear fruits. The vegetables are being sold to schools, markets, supermarkets, restaurants and individuals in Thika.
